Better Ways to Plan and Execute Work: LiquidPlanner

The globalized economy of today has witnessed the massive expansion of organizations all over the world. With this high number of expansions and work-execution at such a broad level, all these organizations require a well-planned solution to keep everyone on track. Planning plays a very important role as it helps achieve targets with ease and promptness.

LiquidPlanner eliminates outdated plans and missed deadlines and in turn presents surprises to the team to get more work done! LiquidPlanner believes that projects are living, evolving constructs. Every project requires a responsive approach to project management that is grounded in reality. And that is why LiquidPlanner was created. The company was created to create a project management standard for technology teams worldwide making dynamic scheduling and resource management.

LiquidPlanner was established by Charles Seybold and Jason Carlson who were well-seasoned project managers. They attempted to run hundreds of projects using the inflexible and unreliable planning tools which were a standard way of managing work. “They saw what everyone else did—that project management was deeply broken; that teams couldn’t trust their schedules or rely on projects to come in on time or on budget,” recalls Todd Humphrey, the CEO of LiquidPlanner.

Project Pathway

Thus started the journey of Liquid Planner in 2006. Based in Seattle, the company set out with an intention of creating the project management tool that the company itself wanted to use. The tool had to be dynamic, supportive and reliable. It was based on the belief that teams work best when they organize tasks by priority, make best/worst case estimates, and collaborate in one central location.

Years later, LiquidPlanner is still the only resource-driven, predictive project management solution in the world. “We call it Dynamic Project Management,” explains Humphrey. “We believe that setting and communicating priorities is the single most important thing you can do to make your team more effective.”

When an organization builds its plan around priorities instead of hundreds of hard-coded dates live magic can be witnessed. LiquidPlanner guarantees that by scheduling multiple projects, work becomes easier than ever before. “People know what to work on. Whenever priorities change, so do your schedules—automatically,” he adds.

Dynamic Projects

Over the years, LiquidPlanner has rolled out many projects and solutions for its client base. The Dynamic Project Management Software was designed to help teams thrive in competitive industries. “Predictive schedules and real-time visibility empower your teams to do the right work at the right time,” says the CEO.

One of its prized solutions is the Smart Schedules. LiquidPlanner knows that change is inevitable and is part of everyday life. This is why the company is the only project management software that adapts to change automatically. “When priorities shift and resources change, you’ll instantly see updated completion dates for each task and project in your entire portfolio,” elaborates Humphrey. The project schedules always reflect reality so the user can focus on moving work forward, instead of reacting to fires.

Another important solution from LiquidPlanner is Resource Management. This platform answers questions like who’s available to work on your next project and more. LiquidPlanner’s Resource Workload reports show how much work is on each team member’s plate, when they’re working on it, and if they need help. This makes things much easier and organized at the same time.

And not to forget the Integrated Time & Budget Tracking. This solution makes time tracking simple for the entire team with integrated timers and timesheets. Billing and pay rates quantify the return on the team’s time investments and help to make informed decisions. The Integrated Time & Budget Tracking assigns costs to custom labor activities and can automatically add hours to timesheets with the click of a timer. It can easily review and approve timesheets for the entire team and track billable and non-billable costs with line-item expenses.
