Over the past two decades, networks have come under increased traffic demands and increased scrutiny as both organizations and consumers increasingly rely on network connectivity for sales, customer service, internal communications, and document sharing. Software-defined networking (SDN), paired with network functions virtualization (NFV), is a key technology needed to meet these new demands. SDN is just one piece of the puzzle: network virtualization (NV), SDN, NFV, and white box devices each offer network operators a new way to design, deploy, and manage an SDN architecture and its services. Solution Architecture

The CANOPUS Networks platform is completely offline, and causes no disruption to the live network. It works off taps and mirrors. The Canopus data extraction platform provides abstracted structured data, over which Canopus helps build custom applications and use-cases specific to the needs of their customers. In addition, the platform seamlessly integrates with third party data visualization tools.

CANOPUS Networks Revolutionary Product Suite

FlowPulse Analytics: Canopus' FlowPulse system generates a fine-grained 100ms real-time heartbeat of every network flow to precisely track hundreds of flow attributes. Using FlowPulse Technology, their models can classify traffic just by looking at the behavioral profiles of flows without necessarily looking inside packets. However, the Canopus system tries to collect all information that is available by using multiple techniques (such as DNS, SSL exchange etc.) to provide maximum accuracy.

Terabit Scale: Powered by the P4 programmable Intel Tofino chip, AI-Driven FlowPulse Technology is able to monitor, analyze and provide insights into terabit scale traffic rates. The company also has a presence in many data centres and exchanges to offer a multi-tenant SaaS solution which requires almost zero effort in getting started. Software Defined Network technology provides the capability of its products to scale to terabit speeds in just 4RU. Using white-box off-the-shelf SDN hardware powered by the Intel Tofino chip, repetitive intensive tasks are pushed to the ASIC while keeping all the AI processing in general purpose CPU.

Encryption Proof: With state of the art behavioral FlowPulse Machine Learning models, FlowPulse uses deep learning methods to classify traffic without inspecting packet contents.

Real-time Dashboards: Real-time interactive dashboard lets an operator closely monitor network performance, pre-empt faults, and perform root-cause analysis for the entire network centrally.

Edge Architecture: Distributed architecture provides ease-of-scale and keeps the costs low by deploying minimum hardware at multiple edge sites, while keeping the analytics centralised.

The Visionary Leader Upfront

Vijay Sivaraman is co-founder, Director, and the Chief Executive Officer of CANOPUS Networks. Vijay executes on the CANOPUS mission to ensure every network in the world provides the best user experience. He was an early engineer in a Silicon Valley start-up manufacturing optical switch-routers, and has done extensive product architecture, development, and operations of carrier-grade solutions for Telcos. Prior to that he worked at Lucent Bell-Labs where he invented new architectures for high-speed switching chipsets. He is a tenured Professor at UNSW Sydney, co-founder of the ANZ SDN Alliance, and has raised millions of dollars for SDN and IoT technologies from government, defence, and private industry.

Mr. Sivaraman holds four patents, has published over 100 research articles, and is a regular speaker at conferences and trade-shows. He received his B. Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from the IIT Delhi, India, in 1994, and his Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2000.
