Brian Rice, CIO of Cardinal Health is Harnessing Technology Strategy and Innovation to Better Serve Customers and Evolve Healthcare Delivery

Healthcare distributors are the backbone of the healthcare ecosystem, serving as the vital link connecting pharmaceutical manufacturers to individual pharmacies, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and other sites of care. Distributors manage a complex supply chain, harnessing innovative technologies to ensure safe, secure and efficient delivery, every time.

Cardinal Health is a distributor of pharmaceuticals, a global manufacturer and distributor of medical and laboratory products, and a provider of performance and data solutions for healthcare facilities. With operations in more than 30 countries and approximately 44,000 employees globally, Cardinal Health is essential to care. The company is navigating the complexities of healthcare and providing scaled solutions to help its customers thrive in a changing world. It strives to be a trusted healthcare partner by driving growth in evolving areas of healthcare, while building upon distribution, products, and solutions to meet customer needs.

Leveraging Essential Pharmaceutical and Medical Care Services

Ambulatory Surgery Centers: From high-quality medical supplies to tailored services that help you maximize efficiency and savings – Cardinal Health offers complete and customizable solutions to help your ASC grow. Strategic Stock Solution was developed to provide space reallocation and time savings by taking the burden of storage and inventory management from your facility. Strategic Stock Solution provides visibility to your inventory through standardized reporting to show its assistance with reconciliation, and expiration date tracking. The result: space and time savings to help you deliver the best patient care.

340B Services: It is complex and cumbersome. Cardinal Health services are designed to equip you with tools to reduce barriers and complexity, overcome pain points and strengthen confidence in the maintenance of an optimized and audit ready 340B program, so that you can focus on what matters most – the patient. The company’s goal is to provide experienced reliable support that enables you to expand your resources, minimize complexity, improve outcomes and optimize the value and integrity of your 340B program.

Lab Kitting Services: Cardinal Health’s Laboratory Kitting Services allows you to feel confident your facility is meeting collection protocols. Tailoring a custom lab kit to meet your facility’s needs will help you control product usage and drive standardization. From blood and urine collection kits to tissue biopsy, viral transport kits, direct-to-patient and genetic testing, the firm can accommodate your specialized kitting requirements. You tell us the challenge, and they will create the kit that supports your needs and testing protocols.

Cardinal Health™ Inventory Manager (CIM): CIM is a web-based solution, providing greater visibility and control to pharmacy inventory. The automated approach provides tools helping to reduce excess inventory and increase turns, while reducing the amount of time staff spend on inventory tasks. CIM is designed to support the unique needs of the pharmacy. Now, with an even more intuitive design, take advantage of tools to increase efficiency, and save staff time, while gaining even more control of your inventory.
