Cisive: The Premium Employment Screening Solutions Provider

Cisive: The Premium Employment Screening Solutions Provider

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every business sphere today. People have lost their jobs all over the world as companies looked to cut expenses to sustain themselves. But things are picking up with the turn of the year. As the news of multiple vaccines ushers forth the New Year, businesses are looking forward to a prosperous year ahead. The hiring is bound to pick up, too.

The hiring process has changed in a big way due to the pandemic as doing in-person interviews has become more difficult. This has placed a particular onus on using a good employee background checking service more than ever before. NY-based Cisive has innovated fast and released its COVID-19 Suite of Solutions to address this problem. In an interview with us, James Owens, President and CEO of Cisive, talked about these solutions. Read on for the excerpts from the interview.

What is the foundation of your business model?

At Cisive, we are experts in the specific risks and regulations that apply to the financial services and other highly regulated industries. For over 40 years, we have provided tailored solutions to meet the unique requirements of our enterprise clients. We launched our onboarding suite of technologies in 2007 to cater to enterprise clients’ talent acquisition needs, and have been enhancing the platform ever since.

Founded in 1977 as CARCO Group Inc., we launched our new brand - Cisive in 2017, to keep pace with our incredible growth and our clients’ increasingly complex challenges for accurate information and insights to make confident decisions

Today, Cisive provides comprehensive global background investigations on potential and current employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. We also offer drug testing and fingerprinting services through alliance partners.

What are Felony records? How do they help in a complete criminal background screening?

Many companies in our industry merely check one county repository when a criminal background check is requested by a client. This will never satisfy our standards for accuracy. Felony records are maintained in a separate repository in more than 50% of the 3,007 counties in the U.S. Cisive always conducts a multiple-repository search; including a third level when municipal courts are appropriate. An investigative audit confirms record accuracy, with a review for legal dissemination under state, federal, and international law.

In addition to a multiple-repository search, Cisive also accesses the original source at court repositories. Cisive reviews applicant-identifying information up to five times. Our attention to detail in every criminal history check has yielded an impressive 99.9993% accuracy rate — adding to the confidence and assurance that clients have screened the right candidate and minimizing their exposure to liability.

Explain your Drug Screening Process.

Cisive’s drug screening services streamline applicant onboarding with a fully integrated electronic Chain of Custody (eCOC) drug screening process that is completely configured in the Cisive Onboarding Portal.

Through our services, applicants complete the self-registration process during the background screen and are presented with three local collection options, which are based on their current residential address. Applicants also have an option to select an alternative collection site to suit their schedule. Additionally, employers have complete visibility into drug test results on the Cisive portal, including applicant registration, confirmation of actual collection, or no-show — through medical review officer (MRO) and final result.

Cisive has developed strategic alliances with best-in-class providers of drug and alcohol testing, as well as in-house medical review services, all employing the latest testing technology. Clients can receive rapid drug test results in real time, paperless drug test collections, online drug test scheduling, and notification of expired events and no-show donors.

What is your COVID-19 Suite of Solutions?

In April 2020, we released SAFE19, a COVID-19 Clearinghouse solution, developed to address the world’s journey to re-open after the coronavirus pandemic. Cisive’s SAFE19 solution is a secure, paperless, central repository specifically designed to handle the uploading, validation, and compliance reporting on COVID-19 test and immunization data. With SAFE19, governments, businesses, and educational institutions can safely re-open while controlling the spread of COVID-19.

Also, SAFE19 is a flexible, data-driven solution designed to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 with the capability to evolve as vaccines and various testing options become available. The system has the capability to use an individual’s profile data and immunization status to generate a digital or physical badge to verify their immunity.

In May 2020, Cisive announced its CONTACT19 contact tracing solution, designed to allow employers to take a proactive approach to testing and contact tracing to ensure the safety of their workforce. The program encourages employees to self-report if they have COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test and can identify and notify other employees who may have been in proximity, making recommendations for isolation or quarantine.

In June 2020, to complete our suite of COVID-19 compliance solutions, we released our ACCESS19 solution. ACCESS19 is a secure, paperless, safety solution specifically designed to allow businesses to resume day-to-day operations while keeping their workforce safe from COVID-19. ACCESS19 eliminates paper documentation COVID-19 attestation processes for businesses by enabling the entire procedure to be complete from a secure, mobile device. ACCESS19 provides attestation digital badges valid for one day, minimizing the risk of coronavirus by enforcing daily attestation procedures.
