“Cleerly is a digital healthcare company transforming the way clinicians approach the treatment of heart disease” — James K. Min, MD, Founder and CEO of Cleerly

Any age can avoid heart disease and reduce their chance of having a heart attack or stroke by adopting a healthy lifestyle. To start taking care of your heart, you can start at any age.

The key to overall good health is having a healthy heart. It circulates nutrient-rich blood throughout your body, provides oxygen, and removes waste and pollutants. It is crucially responsible for almost everything that keeps your body alive, from the successful operation of your immune system to the transfer of oxygen throughout your body as the center of your cardiovascular system.

Therefore, safeguarding your heart is crucial. A world free of heart attacks is being created by the AI digital healthcare business Cleerly. In order to enable physicians to properly diagnose and describe heart disease sooner so they may give individualized, life-saving treatment strategies for every patient along their care continuum, they build clever clinical technology.

History of Cleerly

Cleerly's CEO and Founder is James K. Min, MD. The Dalio Institute for Cardiovascular Imaging at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine conducted research that gave rise to Cleerly's technology, which uses non-invasive coronary (CT) angiography to perform thorough coronary artery phenotyping using AI-enabled and FDA-cleared solutions. Millions of lab photos with annotations have been utilized to create more than two dozen algorithms that can measure and characterize the existence, severity, and type of coronary artery disease as well as other cardiovascular illnesses.

Because there are currently no commercially available innovative treatments for coronary heart disease, Min sees the creation, validation, and distribution of Cleerly's goods and services as an opportunity to apply the extensive clinical trial research he has been conducting for the past 17 years to daily clinical practice.

Cleerly’s technology to detect heartattacks before they occur

Using conventional CCTA research, the Cleerly Labs solution combines patented and FDA-approved machine learning algorithms to non-invasively examine atherosclerosis (plaque) and stenosis. Their artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms create a 3D model of the patient's coronary arteries, identify the vessel walls and lumen, pinpoint stenoses, and find, quantify, and classify plaque. The science behind Cleerly's method is supported by more than 10 million photos from more than 40,000 patients collected over a 15-year span in ground-breaking multi-center clinical trials.

Beyond the CCTA, Cleerly's full coronary analysis offers physicians practical insights with a detailed vessel-by-vessel evaluation of stenoses and atherosclerosis. The coronary artery disease (CAD) evaluation solution provided by Cleerly's heart disease technologies is all-inclusive and thorough. Their methods precisely and accurately measure atherosclerosis, evaluate vascular morphology, and evaluate the vascular profile of every artery and its branches. With stages ranging from normal, mild, moderate, and severe plaque, Cleerly's four-tiered atherosclerosis plaque burden staging method characterizes patients based on total plaque volume or percent atheroma volume. Through longitudinal disease tracking of changes in CAD over time, Cleerly's Track Your Plaque technology is able to assess changes in plaque burden as well.

To assist healthcare professionals in converting clinical data into a personalized CAD diagnosis and course of therapy, Cleerly Reports offers an interactive, web-based summary and information on their AI-based plaque quantification. An interactive, web-based summary of the findings, specifics on the overall amount and kind of plaque, the severity of the stenoses, and information on vascular remodeling are all included in provider reports. Patient reports feature simple language and clear instructional materials that complement the treatment programs recommended by their doctors.

Cleerly created a workflow solution that streamlines CCTA analysis and report sharing for clinicians in order to facilitate adoption of their new standard of care. A complete workflow solution called Cleerly Proxy analyzes a lot of data and provides individualized reports to radiologists, cardiologists, and patients, among other healthcare stakeholders. Patient-safe data transfer is ensured by Proxy's hardened (SOC 2 Type 2 compliant) software, communication protocols, and strong encryption. Installation is made simple, and their cloud-based technology integrates with current hospital, health system, and practice workflows to meet doctors where they are.

A brief biography of the Founder and CEO

Cleerly's founder and CEO is James K. Min, MD. James is the former director of the Dalio Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging (ICI) at New York-Presbyterian and a former professor of radiology and medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. His clinical interests are in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular imaging. He is a board-certified cardiologist.

Min served as the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography's (SCCT) past president and was chair of the organization's annual scientific sessions for five years. He received the SCCT Gold Medal Award in 2017 for lifelong achievement in the CT profession. He has worked on the Task Force for Clinical Expert Consensus Documents and the Task Force for Appropriate Use Criteria and is a prominent member of the American College of Cardiology. In addition to serving as Associate Editor for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging, Associate Editor for the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, and Member of the Editorial Board for Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging, Min also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.

Min graduated from Temple University Medical School with a medical degree after earning a BA from the University of Chicago. At the University of Chicago Hospitals, he finished his internship, residency, and cardiovascular medicine fellowship.

“We've spent more than a decade performing some of the largest clinical trials to identify the most important indicators beyond symptoms that increase a person's risk of heart attacks.”
