Ensygnia – Helping retail companies deliver innovation and new revenue-generating customer journeys through its flagship product Onescan

The retail industry is constantly changing. Major retailers are recognizing that the industry has become very competitive, partly due to technological disruptions, demanding customers, and changing shopping behavior. Retailers that are unable to adapt and respond to these challenges now find it challenging to thrive and survive in the industry. Those in the industry that are able to thrive are the ones that are strategically responding and adapting to digital forces by creating a better retail experience for their customers, building modern retail supply chains, and, most importantly, using omnichannel retail strategies. Omnichannel allows retailers to achieve more availability, drive sales and traffic, and integrate digital touchpoints. An omnichannel retail strategy improves the customer experience and provides more channels for customer purchase––whether it is on mobile, web, or in stores.

Ensygnia helps payment companies and retailers who value usability and customer experience but need a simple, fast, compliant, robust and secure experience for their customers. Its Integration Platform as a Service (PaaS) combines over 350 different payment methods with secure password-less authentication, multi-factor authentication including PIN, mobile device and biometric ID – plus enrichment, data validation and robotic process automation.  This delivers up to at least a 20 percent increase in conversion, a 3x improvement in speed, 50 percent increase in customer satisfaction, a time to market of weeks rather than years and reduction in costs.

The Onescan App

When Ensygnia first started, it was an app that needed to be downloaded, installed and registered but Ensygnia recognized that its clients would benefit from a secure, easy-to-use solution that did not require anything to be pre-downloaded. Today, you can use any smartphone camera to trigger a web-based Onescan secure padlocked payment exchange. That means for your consumers, there’s no need to pre-download anything, and no pre-registration form to complete.  There’s just added security to any transaction or exchange of information – be that online, in-store, from a magazine, or piece of packaging. Its clients use Onescan to be truly omnichannel, truly multi-purpose, and truly secure. So no more usernames or passwords, or constantly filling in online forms. With Onescan, you can transact across the whole omnichannel using your mobile. They make it simple and rapid so you and your customers can relax knowing your and their information is safe.

Onescan provides the world’s fastest, simplest and most secure login. It delivers two-factor authentication as standard, all you need is your phone and a PIN. Step-up authentication delivers true multi-factor.  This includes face or fingerprint bio-metrics, geo-location and behavior.  In essence you can chose between, something you know, have, are and/or do. Onescan authentication and login can bridge multiple identities from multiple sources for Single Sign On or a unified customer view / experience. It can also be backed by Anti Money Laundering (AML), PEP screening, Passport, ID verification and other identity checks.

Providing Best Customer Integration Platform for Retailers

Secure Payment Services: The payments market can be daunting and confusing to anyone not regularly immersed in it. As a result many companies have adopted a “wait-and-see” approach. Unfortunately this has been disastrous for some who are now being disrupted by online & mobile players moving into bricks and mortar, while they’re faced with store closures. Fortunately Ensygnia can give you total peace of mind as they super-aggregate across all payment methods globally - they support over 200+ payment gateways including, ApplePay, PayPal, and Carrier Billing. They are always integrating new payment methods too. And they handle all the compliance so you don’t have to. This not only provides you with the best payment methods and rates for your business, but future-proofs you against having to add new methods or keep up with compliance standards like PCI Level 1 and PSD2.

Compliant Security: It may be stating the obvious, but they take security very seriously, as without it, its offering would be nothing but hollow words. The company understands the brand damage which can so easily be caused by poor security. And with clients and partners including O2, Visa Europe, BBC Worldwide, Sabre and CallCredit, they have to be at the top of their game at all times. They are PCI Level 1 compliant (certified) and PSD2 ready. So, risk and cost are non-issues to its clients and partners as you can immediately leverage their certifications. In many cases they can completely remove your systems from scope, dramatically reducing your costs. platform performs to the highest industry security standards including P2PE (Point-to-Point Encryption), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), key management, cryptography, incursion detection, tamper evidencing, audit and threat prevention safeguards.   Ensygnia provides multi-factor authentication as standard. Beginning with simple phone and PIN, they also enable best-of-breed, industry-standard bio-metrics, geo-location and data validation services.

PSD2: The Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), is an EU Directive intended to bolster payment security and reduce the opportunity for fraud. The directive looks to regulate both payment processes and the payment service providers throughout the European Union. Although administered by the EU and the European Banking Authority (EBA), its reach will be much wider. Regardless of where they are based, banks and other organizations seeking to trade within the EU region will need to implement payment and transaction systems that comply with the new regulations. The Directive also looks to increase pan-European competition and participation in the payments industry, encouraging new entrants (such as non-banks) into the market and leveling-up the playing field on consumer protection with rights and obligations for both payment providers and users. Experience shows that although consumer's welcome extra security, too many steps in the payment process also leads to abandoned baskets and a loss of sales – and PSD2 adds another layer to the process. Their Onescan solution fully meets the requirements of PSD2 but at the same time simplifying the payment process.  Onescan combines possession, the ownership of the mobile phone, with either knowledge or inherence. With Onescan the process of authorizing the transaction from the mobile phone involves the use of a PIN, a fingerprint scan or even facial recognition. It fully meets the new regulations.

App-free approach simply uses the existing camera on the consumer’s smartphone to trigger the authorization process for a transaction. It doesn’t rely on SMS so there’s no need for the retailer to know the consumer’s phone number in advance; nor is there any need to download an app, or to set-up usernames and passwords to start the process. Unlike other solutions on the market, they undergo independent testing for Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated companies. This goes well beyond the requirements of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Level 1 and Payments Service Directive 2 (PSD2) compliance.  What’s more because Ensygnia do not store data centrally, there are no usernames, passwords or payment details for hackers to target and steal.
