Noah DiPasquale, Chief Experience Officer of Epic Golf Club, spoke exclusively to CIO Bulletin on how their golf society gives members access to hundreds of professionals and courses across the country.

Q. What was the motivation behind starting Epic Golf Club?

Private clubs have always offered a simple way to bring together people with similar interests, including the game of golf, to share lifelong memories in a small geographical location. Epic was designed to replicate that experience nationally and globally in a frictionless manner. We have succeeded in building a community of nearly 1,000 members that currently spans across 40 states and 11 countries.

Q. Can you explain about your services in brief?

Epic Golf Club is a private golf society that provides its members access to over 800 private clubs worldwide through its reciprocal program and affiliates. The club's concierge team ensures that members have a seamless experience when booking tee times and traveling. The team also organizes 15-20 events per year at top clubs worldwide, providing members with exclusive opportunities to play golf in some of the world's most sought-after destinations.

Very few companies can deliver consistently great products. Tell us about Epic Golf Club’s excellence and how you maintain that consistency.

We hire great people to deliver excellent service. We have a VIP concierge team that arranges tee times for all of our members and an event team that plans all of the event details. We strive to provide our members with a VIP experience in every way. This starts within the company. Although each individual who works here has a specific job role, we are all consistently working together to ensure we are delivering the best service possible. Our mission is to foster a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for the game of golf and its traditions. We are committed to a welcoming and inclusive environment where members can come together to enjoy the sport, socialize, and make lasting connections. At Epic Golf Club, we deliver an exceptional and unparalleled golfing experience for our members and their guests.

Q. In the highly competitive world in which we live, there are a plethora of choices when it comes to premium golf clubs. What makes your society unique?

For us, it is about the people—the community. We have a stringent vetting process to ensure a good fit on both sides, as we want like-minded individuals with a passion for the game and mutual respect. Along with our vetting process, we also provide white glove service to our members. This means that we go above and beyond to ensure that our members have a VIP experience in all aspects of their time with us. Our exceptional concierge team is always on hand to book tee times for our members when traveling, and our event team plans all of the event details to ensure that every aspect of the experience is seamless and enjoyable.

Q. New talents are hard to source when it comes to hiring for premier service providers. How do you recruit the right talents to maintain the quality of your service?

We've built a team of individuals who are not only passionate about golf but also possess a deep understanding of the golf world and business. Our team includes five head pros who bring a wealth of knowledge and connections to the table, which we leverage to provide our members with once-in-a-lifetime golf experiences. We believe that our team is the backbone of our organization and that our success as a company is a direct result of their hard work and dedication. We invest in our team by providing ongoing training and development opportunities to help them grow and evolve in their roles.

Q. Young applicants might find the new membership application process stringent. How do you see this, and are there any ways to make this process more transparent?

We are as transparent as possible while maintaining the exclusivity of our society. We understand the importance of maintaining an exclusive community, but we also believe in being open and honest with our members and potential applicants. We strive to strike a balance between exclusivity and transparency, and this is reflected in our vetting process. This process is important to us, as it allows us to ensure that all of our members share a passion for golf and a mutual respect for each other. Our affluent members appreciate our vetting process, as it helps to maintain the quality and integrity of our community. As Epic Golf Club has grown in popularity over the past couple of years, we have received an influx of leads and interest from potential applicants. We have had to become more selective with our applicants to maintain the exclusivity and high standard of service that our members have come to expect. We are proud of the community that we have built, and we believe that capping the number of members we have in the near future will help us to maintain our exceptional level of service and exclusivity.

Q. Do you have any new services ready to be launched?

Yes! We are currently updating our website and launching a new app. This new update will make it easier for our members to request tee times and keep communication in one place with our concierge team. We are also implementing a whole new service with Epic Golf Club, which is for corporate golf events. We are offering to plan golf events for any corporation that would like to use our event planning services, which would also include our white glove service and unique connections. We are always looking for ways to improve the member experience and grow as a company.

Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

We are continuing to invite new members into our society, but we will reach capacity in the near future. We continue to offer new and exciting opportunities for our members through experiences, trips, and networking opportunities. We recently released our 2023 event calendar for our members, and there is a lot of anticipation for the rest of the year. Epic is also trying to find other ways to connect our members. Additionally, we place a strong emphasis on referrals. Our members are our biggest advocates, and we love when they bring in like-minded individuals to join our society. It not only helps us grow, but it also ensures that our community remains cohesive and aligned with our values. In fact, many of our current members were referred to us by existing members. We take pride in the fact that our society is built on a strong foundation of trust and mutual respect among our members.
