Q. How well does the European Day Spa of Fredericksburg transform body, mind, and spirit?

I have been a medical aesthetician for 28 years and a medical massage therapist for 26 years. Most of my staff also have over 20 years' experience and are trained in the latest techniques. We provide top-level, relaxing service that will put you in a state of bliss and is therapeutic, relieves chronic pain and rejuvenates skin with the latest technology while still keeping everything natural. For the mind, we use the latest technologies such as the NES Bioenergetics system that analyzes what's going on inside and out. One of the many things it does is recommend which customized formulas will balance things out of sync and even puts together a personalized meditation with mantras tailored just for you. I have studied shamanic arts in many different lineages for the spirit and used my skills and gifts as a medicine woman to transform one's life.

Q. Talk to us about the history and journey of European Day Spa.

I created the first Spa program in Fredericksburg, and after two years of being the Director, I made the leap to my own place. In less than two years, we expanded from two rooms to eight areas and outgrew the building. Over the years, there were several locations, and European Day Spa was also the first Spa to set up spa studios in Bed and Breakfasts in Fredericksburg. I have also helped put spa programs together for other facilities and did many on-site spa services for corporate events. The latest evolution is downsizing to give more attention, focus more on clinical skincare and clinical massage therapy, and offer services that can be done anywhere remotely. I am certified in an energy technique that helps with the adverse effects of COVID-19, vaccines, and shedding. I also offer other energy medicine sessions that can be done over Zoom. 

Q. How well did your services meet your needs?

When I was young, I had a traumatic injury and another one in my twenties. Massage therapy changed my life. As a teenager, I had troubled skin and tried all kinds of things. My staff and I are passionate about helping others, and it is very fulfilling for us.

Q. How satisfied are your customers with your service?

We proudly get consistent five-star reviews, and I have regular customers who have been coming for over 20 years.

Q. How have your years of experience evolved your company?

In many areas, I have learned what works and what doesn't. I have also learned to follow my heart and intuition rather than trends.

Q. Please tell us how your massage therapy is unique.

The staff at European Day Spa is all seasoned therapists, and several are medical massage therapists, so we provide more than the average massage. We use essential oils complimentary with every service, do a comprehensive assessment, and customize each service.

Q. How much proud are you to be published in various publications?

It's a real honor to have our hard work, devotion, and knowledge recognized.

Q. Is there a possibility of reducing arthritis with the help of sole therapy?

We cannot make any claims, and for chronic conditions, there need to be several appointments, but all of our services will make a difference with how you feel.

Carissa has been serving the cosmetology field since 1993 and the field of massage therapy since 1996, although her passion and knowledge started long beforehand.

Carissa is a licensed cosmetologist, certified paramedical aesthetician, licensed massage therapist, certified medical massage therapist, intradermal cosmetic technician, reiki master.
