GradeSlam: Powering Personalized Learning in Schools and Districts

Quality education is a quintessential component of every student’s life. But often students all over the globe find themselves bereft of quality learning once they leave school premises. Those who can actually access after-school tutoring are a small percentage – those who come from privileged families, while those who are in need of this simply can’t afford it. Online tutoring has been lately gaining traction to solve this grave problem. One of the leading companies solving this issue in North America is GradeSlam.

The prodigious founder, Phil Cutler, was already associated with founding of several other successful businesses prior to GradeSlam. But in 2014, he founded GradeSlam to give every student access to online tutoring support.

It is widely known that many of the students require after-school tutoring for homework help and extra learning. But this kind of learning is majorly associated with students who come from a wealthy family. Mr. Cutler wanted to change this.

GradeSlam’s system removed the traditional barriers by enhancing the ability of students to engage and understand their schoolwork. With an emphasis on contextualized, interactive academic support, GradeSlam brings learning to students’ fingertips. The GradeSlam experience encourages and engages them both inside and outside of the classroom.

The company began with the original ambition of giving every student in school or district access to online tutoring support. Today, it avails its online platform to educational and youth organizations. GradeSlam has around 200 partners and reaches out to more than 160,000 students.

With an eye on student success, they have worked ceaselessly with their customers, experts, and engineers to develop innovative solutions which promote an individually tailored learning experience for students across North America.

Backed by Google’s Assistant Fund

The innovative platform has been widely recognised for its tenacity, so much so, that it attracted the attention of Google. Google Assistant Investments program is rumoured to have put in over a million dollars to fund GradeSlam’s platform. The program also gave GradeSlam access to technology experts who could advise the company on using Google’s voice technology for its platform. GradeSlam has the distinction of being the second education-company to draw an investment from the program from Google.

Student Care

GradeSlam’s commitment to student care extends beyond providing just good grades. Their help has been utilized for hundreds of thousands of students but the company also takes non-academic student support seriously. Their effort with student care and protection is aimed at preparing students for a life after post-graduation.

All the tutors on the GradeSlam are prepared to help students with any situation that comes their way. The tutors are put through SafeTalk training, which is a suicide-prevention program and helps the tutors’ detect early warning signs of suicide.

A group of Meehle’s students had access to GradeSlam 24/7. GradeSlam had an impact. He observed that the students were motivated and confident.
