A Fantastic 2020

Hanu most recently obtained the Linux and Open Source Databases Migration to Microsoft Azure advanced specialization. This means that the company has now to its credit a validation that it has deep knowledge, extensive experience, and proven expertise in migrating workloads running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux or SUSE virtual machines and/or utilizing MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB databases to Azure. This specialization is a great achievement for Hanu as partners have to pass a third-party audit of their migrations and meet a strict criterion around customer success.

The company was also announced as the 2020 Microsoft US Partner Award Winner for Azure – Data Estate Modernization at this year’s Microsoft Inspire event.

Anil Singh, Founder and CEO

Anil is a Cloud Evangelist with over 17 years of experience in the software industry. He has led multi-million dollar key software projects at various organizations. His expertise has helped enterprises with over 500 engagements including assessment, migration, applications development, governance and managed services. He has been associated with Fortune 500 companies such as Prudential Financial, Goldman Sachs and top tier Indian outsourcing provider, Infosys.

He is an active member of The Young Alumni Leadership Circle (YALC) of NYU and is the coordinator of the New Jersey chapter of ITBHUGlobal.org.

He holds a Master’s degree from New York University and an engineering degree from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.

A Case Study

Campus Management Corp. is a company that provides software and services to colleges, universities, foundations, and other companies. It has 10 data centers around the US and UK. These data centers have over 2500 VM’s running business critical applications.

Campus Management was looking for a partner when their Windows 2008 Server OS was about to reach end of support. Additionally, their hardware infrastructure was also running out of warranty. To continue support for their business applications and maintain the standards of security, the company needed to migrate their core data infrastructure.

The company has little time as many universities rely on its software to deliver curriculum to students. It decided to migrate the data to Microsoft Azure Cloud. The company wanted to do this without expending IT resources on support and maintenance. Owing to its client-centric focus, Azure expertise, and a great track record with migrations Hanu was chosen for undertaking the task.

Hanu migrated Campus Management’s application workloads from multiple worldwide data centers to Azure Cloud. The migration included rehosting and redeployment from Campus’s old server to Azure VM’s, installation of existing application, database and software upgrades, as well as troubleshooting and general configuration and support.

Hanu also helped the company preserve VPN connectivity that provided secure access to all applications. Moreover, Hanu ensured that each Azure VM was sized to meet the specific application running on it. The total downtime came down to a single weekend which exceeded Campus Management’s expectations and resulted in zero disruption for their clients. Hanu also implemented key security components such as Azure Firewall, WAF, and high-security network monitoring.

Results:
