CIO Bulletin
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is routinely positioned as a means to drive better results, yet most healthcare technology solutions leverage rules and check-lists versus clinically-trained cognitive expertise.
Iodine has pioneered a new approach called CognitiveMLTM, which uses proprietary AI technology and machine learning (ML) algorithms to generate predictive insights that mimic the interpretations and determinations that a human clinician would make reviewing the same data. Similar to how physicians base decisions on their knowledge of medical concepts, experience in the field, and clinical judgment, Iodine leverages its CognitiveMLTM Engine to consider and analyze the entire patient record.
The result? Iodine helps quickly and accurately identify areas of potential opportunity to accelerate productivity, data accuracy, and financial return.
Smarter prioritization
The Iodine Concurrent™ module considers the entire scope of the clinical record, patient experience, and physician intervention to predict likely conditions and identify gaps between evidence and documentation for review.
Automated, clinically-driven DRGs
Iodine Forecast™ is a fully-automated, clinically-driven module that assigns a final DRG for every patient record, early in each patient stay — effectively obsoleting conventional working DRGs.
A Better Way to Manage Time-Sensitive Provider Communications
Interact, formerly Artifact Health, is a transformative query solution that simplifies CDI, Coder collaboration and physician response.
Clinical Documentation Integrity Made Easy
ChartWiseCDI is uniquely designed to help the Clinical Documentation Specialist in independent community hospitals easily prioritize, review, and improve the accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation. ChartWiseCDI also makes it easy to track the status of the review process, analyzing the impact of the reviews on a variety of financial and quality metrics. The result is complete, accurate documentation, appropriate reimbursements, and a full account of the patient journey.
Interact Simplifies
Interact supports clinical documentation integrity by increasing query response rates and enabling proper reimbursement through more accurate coding and billing. Iodine’s cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant platform makes it easy for physicians to respond to queries any time, and from anywhere. Developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine, Interact has streamlined the query response process for more than 80,000 physicians at over 200 hospitals.
Make Physicians Lives Easier: With Interact, physicians can quickly and compliantly address time-sensitive queries anytime, anywhere.
Code Accurately, the First Time: Clarify physician documentation before cases are coded and billed. Optimize reimbursement and ensure publicly-reported quality scores are accurate.
Ensure HIPAA Compliance: All communication through Interact is encrypted and never stored on any device.
A Revolutionary Approach to Solving Revenue Leakage
Healthcare organizations experience mid-cycle revenue leakage for a variety of reasons — from lack of CDI resources to inefficient query processes and beyond. AwareCDI is the only solution on the market that addresses the problem every step of the way, from admission through post-billing review.
It’s all made possible by CognitiveML, the industry’s most advanced and versatile AI engine. With the AwareCDI suite of solutions, healthcare organizations can:
