Nafsika Inc.: Innovations for your well-being

While preventing animal exploitation is the main reason to go vegan, several key factors are involved in a person’s decision to go vegan and stay vegan. A well-planned vegan diet will help you in following healthy eating guidelines while meeting the necessary nutrients requirement. Several notable bodies like the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the British Dietetic Association have recognized a vegan diet as the most suitable option for every age and stage of life. It’s a great opportunity to go vegan as we can learn more about cooking and nutrition along with an improved diet. By getting the necessary nutrients from plant foods, we get more room in the diet for promoting healthy options like whole grains, seeds, fruits, and vegetables, which are generally packed with beneficial vitamins, minerals, and fibers.

We introduce you to Nafsika Antypas; a writer, host, executive producer and founder of Nafsika’s Garden, she has an inspiring story to tell on her veganism. A Netflix documentary overnight brought a change to life and she became a vegan lover right away! This prompted her to research everything about veganism. She read reports, watched testimonials, learned about people’s stories, then put together a daily menu plan, not only her, but she also wanted others to go vegan and wanted to prove how veganism can bring change to their lives.

She inspires people adapt to healthier, more sustainable and compassionate lifestyle by her online course called The Plant-Based Switch which gives readers a weekly plan with dozens of recipes to get through the first six weeks with ease. It also offers enough research and information, arming them with the tools needed to help them start this new lifestyle.

Nafsika’s telly show is very well received by the viewers and its making a real good progress. She feels that many non-vegans are also curious to learn the benefits of going vegan and the impact it has on creating a healthy and cruelty-free lifestyle.

Nafsika is almost done with her first two books, one of which is fiction. She has always loved writing and she is very excited about the launch, two more fiction books are expected to release post her first release. She has incorporated some of her own experiences in her stories.

Nafsika’s journey towards being a successful entrepreneur

She was a fairly new vegan and wished there was a vegan show that could help someone like her transition to this new lifestyle. She couldn’t find one. So, she decided she would produce her own TV show! Nafsika was no stranger to TV in the past so when she decided to do it herself, she just used her resourcefulness and made it happen. And rather quickly she may add. (Just 6 months later.) Plant-Based by Nafsika began airing nationally in the summer of 2016, making it the first, and still the only vegan lifestyle TV show to hit mainstream. But she then noticed many people were still resistant to changing their ways because they did not want to give up their love for cheese.  So, in November 2018, her own vegan cheese brand, Nafsika’s Garden was born. It went national to mainstream markets just after 5 months. She decided to just launch in Europe and the UAE at the beginning of the year and are currently in 10 countries with more on the way.

If she can offer any advice to the readers it would be this: “Never ever give up on your dream. Nothing comes easy. Everything I have accomplished so far was because of hard work and determination. Just keep at it; and stay true to your purpose.”

Q. Why going vegan is so important? (In Nafsika’s own words)

Veganism is not just a diet; it’s a way of life. People who are vegan tend to be people who have strong morals or principles, who are compassionate. You can’t be a compassionate animal eater, for instance. Because that would be an oxymoron. While veganism is largely centered around animal rights, it also has some amazing perks. Such as improving your overall health and the health of our planet, both of which also deserve love and care.

People believe that going vegan is challenging but it is not. That’s in fact, a misconception. Because if you make the switch for the right reasons, then it becomes a natural way of life.

Q. How does one go vegan?

With a little determination and an open mind, anyone can easily go vegan. The plant-based vegan lifestyle is a healthier and more sustainable way of living. I help people go vegan with my TV series, Plant-Based By Nafsika, and by taking my online course, the Plant-Based Switch. The book form is being released later this year. It takes my online course, my own personal tips, recipes, and stories, and is all neatly put together in a format that can easily be taken anywhere. The Plant-Based Switch is a six-week program that gives you access to daily meal plans and recipes, videos, audio, and other resources. It’s filled with the information you need to go plant-based. The student/reader learns about the many positives and benefits of an all-plant-based lifestyle. With my program, I am hoping to change people’s lifestyles and help them make the switch. I hope that my course will inspire readers to eat and live a vegan, plant-based lifestyle. I know it has changed my life for the better and I’m hoping to do the same for others. You can try the first week for free by going to nafsikainc.com/courses/the-plant-based-switch and registering.

Meet Nafsika Antypas

Nafsika Antypas is the writer, host, and executive producer of the television series, Plant-Based by Nafsika, as well as the owner of international vegan food brand, Nafsika’s Garden. Raised in Montreal, Canada, Antypas obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University, where she also received several post-graduate certificates. She later received her health coach certification from the Health Coach Institute.

In 2014, Nafsika founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, People Against Violence, to help victims of violence seek guidance and assistance with its 24-hour helpline, monitored by certified counselors.

But being a passionate vegan, Nafsika felt that the best way to truly help make the world a more compassionate place is to help people go vegan. So, in late 2015, Nafsika put together a unique show that, within six months, would become the first vegan lifestyle series to ever hit mainstream television (A&E), reaching 70 million households.

The TV series, Plant-Based by Nafsika focuses on a plant-based diet and vegan living; a concept Nafsika hoped would help change the world through food. This has not only sparked the interest of viewers around the globe but has “planted seeds” helping veganism become more mainstream, a goal Nafsika conveys in her motto, “If You Plant It, It Will Grow.”

In 2017, Nafsika became a certified Health and Lifestyle Coach, helping people make the “Plant-Based Switch” to a healthier, more compassionate lifestyle.

But there was one very important obstacle stopping people from going vegan, and that was giving up their beloved cheese. So, by late 2018, Nafsika founded the hottest new vegan “cheese” in town, Nafsika’s Garden, hitting major retailers across Canada, followed by the U.S. in early 2020 and is now available in 13 countries.

“My motto is simple: You’ve got to visualize your future and believe it. Then nothing can stop you, because, in your mind, it’s already happening.”
