Q. What is Reltio’s story?

Reltio was founded in 2011 by Manish Sood, Founder and CTO, when he saw the need for cloud-native solutions to address complex data challenges in the market. Soon after, Reltio broke down barriers by delivering the industry’s first cloud-native SaaS platform. Today Reltio proudly serves companies of all sizes, including 14 of the Fortune 100, and globally recognized companies such as Pfizer, L’Oréal, Xerox, CarMax, Takeda, and AstraZeneca. All rely on the Reltio platform to synthesize multi-source, complex data into a single source of trusted information. The company is growing 15 times faster than the overall master data management category. Reltio announced $120M in funding and company valuation of $1.7B. Reltio is focused on accelerating the value of data for businesses.

Q. What’s the number one problem Reltio solves for enterprises?

The average enterprise has 450+ custom applications. The data generated and required by these applications is managed by distributed teams and disconnected technologies resulting in data that is duplicated, outdated, and unreliable -- the lack of “clean data” is a significant business challenge for users. The Reltio platform unifies multi-source, complex data, across all applications and use cases, into a single source of trusted information that gives users access to real-time operational, accurate, and insight-ready data -- 24/7 year-round. Reltio does more than just data management; we accelerate the value of data for businesses so they can make an impact every day.

Q. Where does Reltio sit in a company’s tech stack?

Reltio sits at the center of the customer’s enterprise technology stack, to serve as the heart and lungs (reference used by our customers) for clean, enriched and unified data to act as the single source of truth for operational and analytical needs.

Q. What do you consider to be your most directly competing tools out there (specific names would be great)? And how do you differ?

The competition for Reltio comes from legacy Master Data Management products from large Enterprise vendors such as Informatica, Tibco, IBM, Oracle and SAP. In addition, due to the complex nature of the legacy solutions, customers have tried building solutions on their own or have tried to standardize on some of the key applications (CRM, ERP, etc) in their enterprise landscape as the single source of truth. These approaches fail since the complexity of the number of systems and the need to make the unified data available for digital experiences for any business keeps increasing. These needs have outpaced what customers can build on their own or support with the legacy master data management solutions. Therefore, they need a next-generation solution that can scale with the business needs to accelerate the value from data.

Q. What are some recent company highlights worth noting?

In January 2021 Reltio announced Reltio Identity 360. Identity 360 is a Free cloud-native service that provides a single source of truth for identity data about customers, contacts, and other persons such as patients, sales representatives, and employees in real-time and at-scale. Identity 360 is Free; a first in the master data management segment of the business software market. On October 2021, Reltio announced the launch of a new simplified integration platform, Reltio Integration Hub, as part of its latest Reltio Connected Data Platform release 2021.3. Reltio’s new low-code/no-code integration capability is powered by Workato, a leader in enterprise automation. Reltio Integration Hub empowers our customers to manage their end-to-end data value acceleration lifecycle. By rapidly integrating data sources and consumers with Reltio’s modern data management offering, customers can now speed up time to value from their data assets. It also offers comprehensive capabilities to automate data orchestration and enables activation by distributing trusted data to unlimited decision points in an insight-ready form.

On November 2021, Reltio secured $120 million in a funding round – valuing the business at approximately $1.7 billion. The funding round is led by investment firm Brighton Park Capital, and also involves existing investors Crosslink Capital, New View Capital, RPS Ventures, Sapphire Ventures, and .406 Ventures. Reltio has worked hard to be the industry’s first cloud-native SaaS platform that unifies, cleans, and makes actionable the data across companies’ many application silos. With this new investment, we will be able to scale our operations to offer game-changing technology to more customers, in more places all around the world.

Manish Sood, Founder and CTO

Manish is Reltio’s Founder & Chairman and CTO, responsible for overseeing the Office of the CTO, M&A strategy, business development, long-term product strategy and innovation at Reltio. Prior to founding Reltio in 2011, Manish led Product strategy and management for the Master Data Management (MDM) platform at Informatica and Siperian. He is the co-author of the patent that revolutionized MDM through a global business identifier. During his career, Manish has architected some of the largest and most widely used data management solutions used by Fortune 100 companies today.
