Build, accelerate, and protect at the internet’s edge with StackPath’s premiere edge cloud platform

Edge computing is important because it creates new and improved ways for industrial and enterprise-level businesses to maximize operational efficiency, improve performance and safety, automate all core business processes, and ensure “always on” availability. It is a leading method to achieve the digital transformation of how you do business. Edge computing works hand in hand with the cloud to provide a flexible solution based on the data collection and analysis needs of each organization. For real-time collection and analysis, the edge is ideal for certain workloads. At the same time, the cloud can provide a centralized location for large scale analytics.  Together they provide real-time and longer term insights into performance and power initiatives like machine learning and asset performance management. StackPath is an edge cloud platform, providing cloud services that are physically closer to end users than core cloud providers’ services. StackPath edge compute—including Virtual Machines and Containers—and edge applications—including CDN and WAF—are strategically located in the world’s most densely populated areas, and united by a secure private network fabric and a single management system. Customers ranging from Fortune 50 enterprises to one-person startups trust StackPath to give their latency-sensitive workloads and applications the speed, security and efficiency they require.

Cloud. But closer.

The edge is a “when,” not a “where.” When data travels to and from an end-user or device to a workload running somewhere in the cloud, it actually has to hop through a series of physical locations, costing time and money and facing more points of failure. "Edge" refers to the first/last step the data takes to and from the device. That step varies from user to user, device to device, and even moment to moment. For a smartphone being used at home or an office, a WAP is the edge. For that same smartphone being used in a car, a cell tower is the edge. StackPath’s orchestration engine provisions and manages all aspects of SP// edge IaaS, edge applications, and accounts, and puts the whole StackPath platform at customers’ fingertips via an easy to use customer portal and comprehensive APIs. Under the hood of StackPath is EdgeEngine, an orchestration system that merges and manages StackPath infrastructure, products, and services as a single, automated platform. A high-performance network, smart and scalable infrastructure, and powerful products aren’t an edge by themselves. EdgeEngine™ brings all of that together into a seamlessly integrated platform. It integrates and automates management of every aspect of StackPath’s infrastructure and services. It has full control over every device in every StackPath edge location around the world. Its API-first architecture enables us to automate its actions and extend the same automation to end customers, all from a single pane of glass.

Performance. Not just pins.

The foundation of StackPath’s platform is a global footprint of edge locations, strategically located in major, densely-populated markets around the world, with enterprise grade and internet-scale design and operations. Others claim hundreds of locations. But it isn't always clear what and how much they have at those locations. Every StackPath edge location is designed to scale and deliver full suite of products, with consistent performance, and required capacity. Every StackPath edge location features top-of-the-line routers and high-density, layer-3, top-of-rack spine switches to deliver highly performant, reliable, and scalable networking. StackPath’s high-performance edge locations around the world connect to end-users with their region’s best transit and peering partners, and to one another with a private backbone to move data faster and safer than ever. Every StackPath edge location features multiple, independent tier-1 carriers, providing enterprise-grade performance and reliability and enabling StackPath to intelligently route traffic around network congestion, weather-caused outages, and other performance obstacles. Developing and delivering Internet-enabled games is not rated E for everyone. As games get faster, richer, and more interactive, players get less patient with lag, downloads, down-rezzing, and device incompatibility. StackPath is a complete edge-computing platform, giving you a full range of options for solving these challenges by placing game workloads and applications closer to players than ever before.
