Sysdig – Powerful and flexible system monitoring and troubleshooting tool

With SaaS services taking the lead in today's software market, it is necessary to check your system for any vulnerability regularly. There should be proper software to analyze, monitor, and resolve the client's issues or the host end. Sysdig is one such company that is an open-source, cross-platform, powerful, and flexible system monitoring and troubleshooting tool for Linux. It also works on Windows and Mac OSX but has limited functionality and can be used to conduct system analysis, inspection, and debugging.

Sysdig integrates various monitoring tools to offer a single and simple program, moreover, with amazing container support. It enables you to capture, save, filter, and examine the real behavior (stream of events) of Linux systems as well as containers.

It comes with a command-line interface and a powerful interactive UI which allows you to watch system activity in real-time, or perform a trace dump and save for later analysis. Sysdig was launched in 2014 by Loris Degioanni, co-creator of Wireshark. As a general-purpose Linux troubleshooting tool, Sysdig can also be used on environments using containers to work with namespaces.

Secure DevOps Platform

Sysdig allows you to ship cloud apps faster by embedding security, compliance, and performance into your DevOps workflow. It allows you to scan for vulnerabilities and see inside containers to alert on abnormal behavior and application health issues. Sysdig helps you resolve issues quickly by analyzing granular data from any perspective based on cloud and Kubernetes metadata. The Sysdig platform is built on open-source tools your team wants to use with the scale, performance, and ease of use that enterprises demand.

The Sysdig Secure DevOps Platform provides native cloud security and monitoring, delivering visibility and control for operating containers and Kubernetes. As it is open-source, it supports and adds value to a wide range of leading tools, solutions, and cloud services from multiple providers.

However, legacy tools don't work for containers and Kubernetes. Existing tools operate in silos and don't provide adequate security and visibility. Purpose-built tools can look inside containers and use Kubernetes-native controls, allowing you to run containers and Kubernetes in production confidently.

You can scan images for vulnerabilities and misconfigurations directly within CI/CD pipelines and registries and block threats without impacting performance using Falco, the open-source cloud-native runtime security project. Sysdig lets you conduct forensics after the container is gone and continuously validate compliance against PCI, NIST, CIS, and more.

You can prevent issues by monitoring performance and health with full-stack visibility into infrastructure, services, and applications. Sysdig allows you to get productive in minutes with guided onboarding and automatic integrations into your DevOps toolchain. With Sysdig, it becomes easy tomeet security, availability, and compliance requirements with curated workflows.

The Sysdig Secure DevOps platform is designed to provide you with the critical data you need to operate, protect, and manage your container-based applications and infrastructure. It allows you to automatically work with any combination of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, DC/OS, containerd, CRI-O, Jenkins, Falco, etc. that you choose. With Sysdig, enterprises can ship cloud apps faster, consistently, and with fewer vulnerabilities. You can reduce operational overhead by blocking zero-day attacks, getting proactive alerts of issues, and drastically reducing mean time to respond (MTTR).

Sysdig Monitor

Sysdig Monitor allows you to maximize the performance and availability of your cloud infrastructure, services, and applications. Cloud monitoring at scale, with full Prometheus compatibility, provides deep visibility into rapidly changing container environments. It allows you to resolve issues faster by using granular data derived from actual system calls enriched with cloud and Kubernetes context.

Sysdig Monitor is the first commercially available cloud monitoring platform fully compatible with Prometheus, which provides developers with their preferred monitoring approach without the management headache. Sysdig scales to millions of metrics with long-term retention and a single backend. You can maximize performance and availability with deep visibility into infrastructure, services, and applications using granular syscall data enriched with the Kubernetes context.
