Top of the line employee verification services, providing a better way to verify income and employment: Truv

In the highly competitive world we live in; employee verifications can be an unavoidable yet costly affair for both employers and verifiers. It is the process to confirm a person's past or current job status and ensures that the candidates have the relevant experience to perform the job well. Employment verification can also reveal false claims, gaps in employment, or fabrication of job titles; hence is crucial.

Globally, there are various employee verification companies providing excellent services, among them Truv stands out. Truv, formerly Citadel API, was founded in 2020 to give financial institutions and consumers a better way to verify income and employment. The idea was simple: manual and legacy methods are slow, expensive, and often inaccurate. Truv set out to automate the process to improve the experience and outcomes for everyone. Truv launched in 2020 with its consumer-permissioned instant verification infrastructure connecting financial institutions to 120M+ US employees—matching the coverage and conversion rates of more established providers.

An Intelligent Verification Platform

No single verification provider has been able to solve 100% of verifications. That’s why financial institutions use what’s called waterfall of multiple verification providers. Most consider the same three variables when it comes to constructing a verification waterfall: time, money, and pull-through rate. Yet every institution has reinvented the same wheel. Building and maintaining the workflows to integrate multiple verification providers are resource-intensive. And most businesses are ill-equipped to implement new providers into their existing waterfall. As newer technologies like consumer-permissioned instant data join traditional instant databases, call centers, and document upload as a faster, more cost-effective verification option, many financial institutions struggle to keep up. Enter Intelligent Verification Platforms, which aim to solve the challenge. With the goal of lifting the engineering burden from financial institutions, Intelligent Verification Platforms help organizations tackle consumer verifications without writing a single line of code—all while optimizing for time, money, and pull-through rates.

Intelligent Verification Platforms offer a unified solution for consumer verifications. Financial institutions integrate with a single platform that provides the building blocks to a successful waterfall.  An integrations marketplace of components (consumer-permissioned instant data, instant databases, call centers, and document upload) combined with smart routing technology creates an ideal solution for each organization. The platform enables organizations to add or remove components easily, or input requirements like time, money, and pull-through rate to allow the platform to dynamically tailor an optimized solution.

New Truv Bridge

Truv has taken a mobile-first approach to UI so that it can be completely ‘out-of-the-box’ so that the new interface and experience could be easy and digestible. As long as you have the integration: you don’t need to do anything. The company sees that a majority of its end users are on the iOS platform and it thinks about integration not just as how it translates on the web, but how it translates to mobile apps. The company has followed material design guidelines while keeping iOS guidelines in mind to make its user experience of working across different devices completely seamless. Moving forward, regardless of how or where you access Truv, its user experience would be consistent, accessible, and easy to use.

The more feedback Truv receives, the more it discovered that end-users were struggling to find their payroll providers. Between synonyms, subsidiaries, branches, spacing, uppercase lettings, lowercase letters, and so forth, it was becoming a hassle and it wanted to make sure it found a solution. In the improved UI/UX, Truv has released a new search function that will have roughly seven million businesses and employers to search from; Truv does all of the heavy lifting for you. With its mapping in-house, you’ll no longer have to struggle to figure out who your payroll provider is (as you might have to with some of its competitors.)

As with subsidiaries and branches, Truv handles the logic to show subsidiaries, acquisitions, sister companies, and so forth based on the search criteria, to make the process for its end users much more simplified and seamless. Truv have also updated its database to provide a personalized experience for its gig-economy workers based on roles if they are employees, drivers, dashers, shoppers, etc. Truv provides step-by-step guidance on workflow and processes to help create better behaviors and educate end-users on best practices so verification tasks can be completed easily and efficiently. After many rounds of user testing and feedback from clients, it saw an area of weakness; end-users were unaware of their payroll credentials. To alleviate the pain, Truv has mapped over 100,000 employers’ businesses and will constantly be striving to improve coverage. It will also be able to support single-sign-on (SSO) through the Truv Bridge and help end-users reset their credentials as needed.
