Founding Story

Stephanie tried to help her father deal with the multiple chronic conditions he faced. She knew he needed someone with medical knowledge in his corner to help him manage them on a daily basis — and get him on the path to better health. Instead, he got lost in a confusing and impersonal healthcare system, like so many do today.

Drawing on her background in building products and marketplaces at Google, eBay, and PayPal, Stephanie started Vida Health in 2014 with the mission to treat multiple chronic conditions at once through personalized care plans and the power of human connection.

Modular Platform for Multiple Conditions

Many people have more than one chronic disease — which is why it’s important to treat multiple conditions together. Vida's adaptive programs make it easy to personalize care and meet the unique needs of your population. Vida offers access to the best coaches, licensed therapists, registered dietitians, diabetes educators, and personal trainers. Trained in cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, they give guidance, offer accountability, and address barriers to help people prevent and manage chronic health conditions. Each program includes several pathways that can be layered, mixed, and matched to meet an individual’s needs. Their platform provides program for various health conditions such as;

Cardiometabolic Program: Gives members who have or are at risk of chronic cardiometabolic conditions — like obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol — access to specialized tools and a highly-qualified care team to improve their conditions at a fast rate. Helps members with diabetes learn how to expertly monitor and improve their blood sugar levels and other symptoms with the help of certified coaches and in-app tools. Helps members with obesity adopt new healthy behaviors through expert coaching and in-app tools. On average, Vida members see 7.4% weight loss after one year. Helps members with hypertension learn how to expertly monitor and improve their blood pressure levels and other symptoms with the help of certified coaches and in-app tools.

Mental Health Program: Helps members address symptoms of depression and anxiety, which often co-occur with cardiometabolic conditions. Their program is designed to adjust to the full spectrum of a member’s mental health needs and helps them develop resilience to life’s challenges. Treats moderate to severe depression and anxiety through cognitive behavioral therapy and the prescription of antidepressants when needed. The program teaches members how to recognize their triggers and helps them take charge of their thoughts. Helps members with subclinical or mild mental health issues develop their mental fitness, sustainably cope with emotional challenges, and improve their emotional wellbeing. It helps members who have chronic musculoskeletal pain avoid the need for injections, opioids, surgery, and other ineffective and expensive procedures.

Stephanie is an entrepreneur and "intrapreneur" who build products, platforms and businesses from the ground up. She was formerly VP of Commerce and Payments at Google and SVP at eBay & PayPal. She also founded Planetrx.com, an online pharmacy and disease management company. She is on the Boards of Papa, Wish, and Seagate.
