Best 30 Companies of the year 2018
CIO Bulletin
IT managers earlier were hesitant to adopt cloud. The attitude towards ERP and cloud computing has witnessed a gradual shift in perception over the last few decades. While most of the IT managers were not so confident about using a cloud solution a few years back, they are now up and running on the new cloud based systems managing their entire organizations. Traditionally, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions were regarded as “software crown jewels”. Though they were expensive, bulky and large, they stood at the epicenter of a company’s core business. Not surprisingly then, the IT guys considered the cloud as the next imminent step to transform their ERP Solutions and Infrastructure to meet the current and future business needs.
Wharfedale established in 2001 is an industry leader in Cloud Architecture for SAP Deployments, SAP Cloud Data Migration, SAP HANA Upgrade, providing High Availability, and complete Disaster Recovery Solutions. The firm’s cloud transformation solution comes with its extensive cloud expertise and empowers organizations with a one-stop solution for their SAP Cloud requirements.
WFT’s key differentiator is “Zero Dollar Down SAP Migration to Cloud” and they have successfully completed the largest migration to Azure for SAP Production Landscape of a Pharma Company in North America. The process started from assessment of the client’s current environment, planning, design, and implementation (proof of concept, through three iterations of mock migration) and then migration of the production landscape to the cloud with minimal downtime. Wharfedale’s 74-factor SAP transformation methodology helped the customer migrate their SAP landscape into Microsoft Azure Cloud seamlessly.
WFT initially faced trouble in getting its message to enterprise customers as in how it can help them improve their operation efficiency and reduce cost. The company feels people, intellectual property, understanding customers’ pain points, on time/on budget delivery and managing or exceeding customer expectations are its biggest assets.
In conversation with Ganesh Radhakrishnan, CEO
Two-way communication is the key. Employees need to feel they have an outlet for sharing their observations and ideas, is this true with your company?
How well do your employees know their role in contributing to the team’s and company’s success?
Knowledge sharing is the key. We consistently communicate about our services, solutions and approaches with the team. Everyone should feel confident and have good support structure to deliver quality work.
What makes a best company to work for is a culture of listening to what employees want to do, and a commitment to help them do it. Do you agree to this statement?
Absolutely yes. We truly believe in listening to employees on their career aspirations, their views on innovation and future. Our commitment to make them realize their dreams immensely benefits us to achieve our organization goals with a highly motivated work force.
How do you bring the best out of an employee, do you give them enough autonomy in work related decisions?
Empowerment- We provide trainings periodically to ensure employees contribute with confidence and achieve their goals. Employees are empowered to make work related decisions within their assigned roles.
Motivation- We make them part of the success of the company by measures including constant positive feedback.
Know your employees well- We understand employees’ strength/weakness and their career goals and provide guidance and opportunity for them to grow.
It is difficult to start a venture. But far more difficult to maintain it' - How would you and your team interpret this saying?
Focus, hard work, dedication, exceeding market/customer expectations. What we know we know well; what we don’t know we don’t know. We consider ourselves as a market niche provider.
