• NIAGEN

NIAGEN^®, also known as nicotinamide riboside (NR), is a unique member of the vitamin B3 family. The body converts NR into Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) which is an essential molecule found in every living cell. The NAD+ enables cells to convert the food that we eat into the energy that we need. If NAD+ levels are low, then communication between the cell nucleus and the mitochondria may be impaired and the mitochondria may dysfunction as a result. When this occurs, everything begins to break down. The reality of NAD+ levels is highest at birth and decreases dramatically with age. Frank L. Jaksch Jr. is the CEO, co-founder and a board member of ChromaDex. Jaksch oversees research, strategy and operations for the company with a focus on scientific and novel products for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets. Prior to ChromaDex, Jaksch served as International Subsidiaries Manager of Phenomenex, a life science supply company where he managed the international subsidiary and international business development divisions. He earned a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Valparaiso University.
