With over 90 articles in leading medical journals to his name, Dr. Chris Saigal (Co-Founder) is the brains behind WiserCare. But WiserCare was transformed from a significant research project into a company when Ted Meisel (Executive Chairman and Co-Founder) intervened. Ted’s vision was to elevate shared decision making into routine practice and to make it work for doctors. WiserCare was then created by Dr. Saigal to unlock shared decision making at scale.

Mid-January, WiserCare announced a new collaboration with a California-based non-profit health plan, Blue Shield. Blue Shield has over 4 million members and 65,000 physicians in its network. The collaboration is to bring personalized decision support which WiserCare excels in - to patients and physician practices. The collaboration will improve adherence, outcomes, and satisfaction. It will also help lower the costs associated with care. Blue Shield will be responsible for making WiserCare select physicians in its network to use for all their patients while WiserCare will support implementation in the practice setting.

Ted Meisel, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder
A seasoned healthcare and technology entrepreneur, he is passionate about making healthcare system work better. He is also the co-founder of AVIA. He was the CEO of Overture Services, an internet search company. He led the company from the very beginning till it became a company with over $1 billion in revenues. Ted started his career working on strategy and change management engagements at Mercer and McKinsey. He recently served CMS as a senior adviser focused on delivery system and payment reform. He serves on the boards of a number of healthcare companies. He also serves Hope Street Group as board chairman.
He has a JD from the Stanford University and a BA from Dartmouth College.
