Amazon adds clip sharing feature to Amazon Prime Video

Amazon rolls out a new clip-sharing feature on Amazon Prime Video for iOS and users within the U.S. Users can use the option to create 30-second clips of select shows on Prime Video and share them or upload them on social media.

Amazon is rolling out a new Prime Video feature that lets users share video clips from movies and shows on the platform. The next time you are watching a something on Prime Video, and there is a moment that leaves you laughing, crying, or feeling wowed, you might be able to share a clip of it with your friends on social media.

Amazon explains that users watching select content on Prime Video will get the option to ‘Share a Clip’ during playback. The option will then select the last 30 seconds of what the user’s been watching and create a clip of it. The Prime Video app will present the user with a basic editor to make adjustments to the video clip and preview it to include the bits they want to share. Once the user creates the desired clip, they can select the ‘Share’ icon and either upload it or share it via Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, iMessage, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

The feature is currently only available on iOS and for users in the U.S. Users can use the new feature only on a limited number of shows for the initial rollout, including season one of ‘The Boys’, ‘The Wilds,’ ‘Fairfax,’ and ‘Invincible.’
