India aims to modernize its pharma and medical technology logistics framework because it will increase export productivity while decreasing costs and strengthening international competitiveness.
The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) has initiated plans to revamp the logistics value chain operations in both the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors of India. Due to ongoing US tariff worries the Department of Pharmaceuticals seeks proposals to establish a thorough examination that will reshape the system which supports pharmaceuticals and medical devices manufacturing.
The research will assess existing infrastructure alongside policies and logistics procedures to develop vital performance enhancing recommendations. Medical technology supplies will receive top priority in the analysis to examine the entire supply process starting from raw material acquisition through end-destination shipment.
The initiative works to enhance medical technology exports of India through the analysis of EXIM flows as well as the identification of operational issues and the implementation of procedures at seaports and airports.
Various experts agree that medical technology within India can achieve significant development rates. A global medical technology hub can develop with supportive policies that reduce shipping expenses and strengthen trade facilities and expand export opportunities.
The selected agency will work alongside transport ministries as well as shipping departments and aviation departments and departments of customs to match infrastructure development to sectorial requirements. The deadline for proposal submission regarding the study is fixed for May 2.
