Photo filters are somewhat of a mainstay in every camera app on the mobile phone today. In an age where how people appear is almost always subject to multiple filters, we could always have something better. Adobe has rolled out its Photoshop Camera app which promises to be the best at this and more.
To begin with, the Photoshop Camera app is an AI-powered camera app aimed at re-imagining photography. The Photoshop Camera app lets users capture, and edit moments of your life. But that’s not new right? Well, what’s new is that the app lets users do some Photoshop-level magic right from the viewfinder, “leaving you free to focus on storytelling with powerful tools and effects.”
With Adobe Sensei backing the app, the Photoshop Camera can instantly identify the subjects in the photo. The app can give users recommendations to enhance it and can also apply features to a photo at the moment of capture. The app can go as far as applying complex adjustments to a photo as it can understand the technical content of photos like tonality, face regions, scene-type, dynamic range and more.
The app has just been made available for a preview for now. The app will be made available to everyone in 2020.
On the company blog, Abhay Parasnis, Executive VP and CTO of Adobe, wrote: “Photoshop Camera is a major moment for us to broaden Adobe Creative Cloud as a creativity platform for all. We are committed to investing in accessible tools like Photoshop Camera built for the next generation of consumers and creatives.”
