New Android update allows users to adjust external display settings, enhancing Desktop mode capabilities.
Users who connect their devices to external monitors may now enjoy fascinating new capabilities with Google's most recent Android 15 QPR1 Beta. Mishaal Rahman, an expert in Android, claims that the update brings with it control over the resolution and rotation of the display through a new "External Display" page in the Settings app.
Now, users may choose between three different resolution settings for their external screens: 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 1024, and 1280 x 720. There are further advanced options like 1024 x 768 and 720 × 480. One can select between standard, 180°, 270°, or 90° rotation. Users should be advised that altering these settings while using an external display may result in temporary app malfunctions.
To further streamline the user experience, the new page also includes a toggle option that allows you to turn off the external display without physically unplugging it from the phone. This upgrade is in line with Google's continuous endeavors to improve the Desktop mode on Android, which has been accessible since Android 10.
Google hopes to match the features of Motorola's Ready For and Samsung's Dex by improving Desktop mode, despite its development. These improvements reflect Google's commitment to expanding Android’s functionality for a seamless desktop experience.
