Galaxy S24 users face lockout woes as Samsung scrambles to fix One UI 7 glitch
Samsung’s much-awaited One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series has hit a major roadblock, leaving mobile users frustrated. On April 14, 2025, reports surfaced that the company halted the global rollout of this Android 15-based software due to a critical bug that’s locking people out of their phones. The issue first emerged in South Korea, where the update launched on April 7, followed by the U.S. on April 10.
Some Galaxy S24 users found their phones wouldn’t unlock properly after installing One UI 7, turning their trusty devices into stubborn bricks. Tipster IceUniverse shared on X that this “serious bug” prompted Samsung to pull the update worldwide, including in China and Europe. The company’s acting fast to fix it, but there’s no word yet on whether U.S. users are facing the same headache.
This mobile mishap also affects Samsung’s flagship foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, which were set to get the update. Promised to bring smoother animations, a fresh interface, and smarter AI features, One UI 7 was meant to supercharge these phones. Now, users are left waiting, wondering when their devices will get the upgrade they were so excited for. Samsung’s working hard to restore trust and get these mobiles back on track.
