The tech giant, Samsung, has recently launched its latest external storage device ‘SSD T7 Touch’ which is interestingly equipped with a built-in fingerprint sensor. The SSD is enclosed in a smaller and more secure case and offers high speed.
There are plenty of SSD devices already in place but what sets Samsung’s T7 Touch apart from other similar devices is its speed and fingerprint reader. A good portable SSD should be small, fast and be able to connect to devices using USB-C port. And Samsung’s T7 Touch does justice by covering all of the above features. The fingerprint sensor combined with the high speed makes it a must-have product.
The fingerprint sensor enables the user to securely store their data. The device needs the user to enroll their fingerprint and after that, it requires authentication before it mounts to the user’s computer or phone. This feature is backed by AES 256-bit hardware encryption which restricts another person’s access to the data of the user. Also, the sensor requires the user to create a password for using it and allows up to four attempts to unlock it. The device is compatible with Windows 10, macOS and Android.
Apart from the benefits the device offers, it has a few cons like no compatibility with iOS. Also, it can’t be manually reset by the user if credentials are lost.
