Monetization of creators changes on X

Elon Musk stated in a post on the X platform that users will not be compensated if fact-checking application Community Notes calls out their tweets as unreliable.

The monetization of creators has changed thanks to Elon Musk. He stated in a post on the X platform that users will not be compensated for interaction on their tweets if they have their tweets edited by the crowd sourced fact-checking application Community Notes.

Even though it has always had trouble squelching false information regarding significant news events, Twitter remains the most popular source of global news and updates.

But experts say that the war between Israel and Hamas has shown how the platform that is now known as X has turned into something that is not only untrustworthy but is actively spreading lies.

Experts have stated that, under Elon Musk, the platform has declined to the point that, in addition to failing to suppress false information, it is now giving preference to postings made by accounts that pay for its blue-check membership service, regardless of the person behind the account.

The authors of these blue-checked pieces may receive rewards from X if they become viral, giving them a financial incentive to share anything that sparks the greatest controversy, even false material.

Musk's X then claimed that since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out, it had removed or flagged tens of thousands of posts that included "illegal" material.
