As the head football coach at Derby High School, Brandon Clark believes that true success on the field begins with something deeper than just talent or strategy—it starts with brotherhood. The foundation for this brotherhood was laid during the Freshman Father and Son Retreat at North Stone Ranch. Coach Clark emphasized that this retreat was about more than just football; it was an opportunity for fathers and their sons to dive into what Derby football truly represents. Together, they set goals for both the game and life, creating a shared vision for the future.

The summer workout program, Panther Pride, was another crucial element in building this sense of unity. From the varsity players down to the youngest Derby Junior Football participants, everyone took part in a rigorous routine that not only strengthened their bodies but also reinforced their commitment to the team. For Coach Clark, these workouts were about instilling a collective spirit that will drive the Panthers through the season.

Special events like the Hoggy Holiday, where the offensive and defensive lines came together for a day of relaxation and fun, highlighted the importance of camaraderie. Meanwhile, the Senior Faith and Leadership Retreat allowed the team’s leaders to reflect on how they wanted to guide their teammates. It was here that the seniors chose "Brotherhood" as a new core value, adding it to Accountability, Character, Energy, and Serve.

Coach Clark strongly believes in the mantra ME=WE, which encapsulates the idea that while the team’s success is greater than any individual effort, each player’s contribution is invaluable.
