Oracle forms innovation hub in Dubai

Oracle is a US technology giant and it recently announced its formation of a new innovation hub in Dubai. The motive behind this is to introduce Artificial Intelligence across the country's businesses, public sector, and academia.

This was inaugurated by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, UAE's Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence. The new facility got its name ‘Zayed Innovation Hub’.

"The success of strategic government initiatives like Smart Dubai and Expo 2020 is underpinned with emerging digital technologies such as AI driving the creation of an automated infrastructure for the realization of these projects," said Arun Khehar, senior vice-president - business applications, ECEMEA, Oracle.

There are over 400 cloud sales professionals in the hub. Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, senior vice-president - Technology, Middle East and Africa, Oracle gave a statement that businesses which use AI, big data and the Internet of Things to unveil new business insights will loot $1.2 trillion per annum by 2020.

He added that it is difficult to make AI adopt and the challenging part for firms is that they can’t afford to wait. Zayed Innovation Hub will be of help to address this challenge by occupying key UAE audiences by elevating their awareness levels, helping drive an innovative approach and also supporting the skills development of the next generation of Emirati leaders.
