Clubhouse, the pioneer of audio chat rooms, has introduced a much-needed new feature called ‘Wave,’ which lets you send invites to your friends when they are online. Earlier, it was very complex to invite your friends to a new room; you had to send them an invite link to join via third-party apps. This was hectic for most of the users.
Available globally on iOS and Android, Wave will allow you to start a private room with friends. You can wave at multiple people if they already follow you. To send a wave, you need to go to the Hallway by swiping right or tapping the dots icon on the bottom left of the screen. Then, you can tap the wave button for each individual you want to invite. All users you waved to will get a notification, and if they ignore it will not be notified back to you. If they accept, they will be added to the room automatically as a speaker.
While you’re waiting for your friends to join your room, you can join other rooms as well. And if they join while you are in the other room, you will be notified again. However, if you wish to cancel the Wave, you can easily cancel the Wave from a small wave bar on the screen. Clubhouse is growing its user base steadily by launching features that encourage more casual and social interactions, rather than going the professional (appointment-based) way initially.
