The two occasions marked the 120th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale, the diplomatic pact signed in 1904 between France and Britain that opened the door for their cooperation in both World Wars I and II. French President Emmanuel Macron stated in a video message shared on social media on Monday that the alliance is the cornerstone for strengthening Anglo-French ties, especially now that the war is returning.

In a joint opinion article that appeared in the Daily Telegraph on Monday, French Foreign Secretary Stéphane Séjourné and British Foreign Secretary David Cameron urged friends to increase aid for Ukraine.
