Walmart Gatesville's statement on social media confused customers saying CARD only but later clarified that cash is accepted, just not for cash back.

Gatesville Walmart stirred a frenzy among shoppers on Sunday when the store announced that it would be accepting only card payments and no cash. "Until further notice we will be CARD only for payment. No cash or cash back at this time," was the exact announcement of the post emphasizing, "Thank you for understanding, we apologize for any inconvenience."

However, only an employee who attended to a phone call late Monday explained that despite it being cash to pay, the cash back part was corrupted. No one knows why they stopped processing the cash back. With a miscommunication at this time of year that is usually the busiest with last minute Christmas shopping, many were worried about the initial post from the store. The post sent alarm bells ringing among those who kept cash for their purchases.

Walmart said that both Payment and Card options would also be available; however, people looking for cash withdrawals may want to plan ahead due to the temporary unavailability of the cashback service.
