The global alternative investment firm strengthens its presence in key US markets with strategic industrial asset acquisitions.
Investcorp, a leading global alternative investment firm, has made a significant move in the US real estate market by acquiring three industrial properties valued at $300 million. This latest investment adds approximately 1.5 million square feet to its growing US industrial portfolio, which now spans 42 million square feet and 640 buildings across the Southern and Western regions.
The acquisitions include strategic properties in high-growth markets, such as the Dallas & Atlanta infill portfolio, the West Coast infill portfolio covering Denver, Las Vegas, San Diego, and the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as the Tampa industrial portfolio. These assets are expected to further solidify Investcorp’s strong foothold in the US industrial real estate sector, where its holdings now total $5.3 billion.
Herb Myers, Co-Head of Real Estate North America at Investcorp, emphasized the firm’s confidence in industrial assets, noting, “While the overall sector has normalized from pandemic highs, we continue to see strong performance and opportunities for infill assets in high-growth markets. We believe the sector will benefit from sustained demand and positive tailwinds over the long term.”
Founded in Bahrain, Investcorp is backed by prominent investors, including Mubadala, Abu Dhabi’s investment and development company, which acquired a 20% stake in 2016. This latest acquisition underscores Investcorp’s long-term commitment to expanding its industrial real estate presence in the US.
