Amazon is rolling out a new feature called the AR View. The feature is based on Apple’s ARKit and is available on the Amazon app for iOS users. Basically, the feature allows you to place various items in your house virtually before actually buying them.
The AR View comes with a wide range of selections that include home décor, electronics, home office products, toys, games, and a bunch of other stuff. With this tool/feature, users can overlay, move, and rotate any item they wish to buy, in a live camera view mode, and see and decide for themselves how the item will fit and look in real time.
Earlier, Amazon had ventured into using AR technology for shopping on its app. But this had come out in the form of AR Stickers, that didn’t really provide much help. With more pressing need coming to the retailer, it has finally launched the AR View.
In order to use the feature, you simply need to open the Amazon app on your device, tap on the camera icon in the search bar and hit the AR View and then select a product. You use one finger to move the item and two to rotate. The feature is available on iPhone 6S devices and higher running iOS 11.
