PepsiCo and AgMission grant two million dollars to Expand Cool Soil Initiative in Australia's Grain Industry.
Charles Sturt University to receive a 2.1 million dollars grant from PepsiCo and AgMission to advance research in sustainable agriculture. The money will support the university’s efforts to carry out its Cool Soil Initiative across Australian commodities and other locations.
The contribution includes 748,394 dollars from AgMission, accorded by PepsiCo. Additionally, the university resources bring about a total share of $3,783,598. This initiative is composed to promote and benefit Australia's grain business.
The university has been prominent of sustainable farming practices. The main goal is to work with the farmers to lessen greenhouse gas emissions and improve soil health using scientifically proven methods.
Nick Pagett, Executive Director of Agriculture Sciences Research and Business Park (AgriPark), highlighted the importance of this research in promoting agricultural innovation despite challenges. "This partnership not only fosters innovation but underscores our commitment to tackling climate change through collaborative solutions," he stated.
Pagett highlighted Charles Sturt University's role in bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to Australia's cropping industry. He applauded PepsiCo and AgMission for their dedication to supporting and advancing climate-smart agriculture globally.
PepsiCo and AgMission have also received funding from two other Mexican and Canadian universities, indicating efforts to promote sustainable agriculture methods globally.
