Snoop Dogg and Master P are suing Walmart and Post Consumer Brands for allegedly undermining their cereal brand by concealing boxes and falsely declaring it out of stock.
Rappers Snoop Dogg and Master P are suing Walmart, USA’s largest store, and a food manufacturer for allegedly undermining their cereal brand. Walmart and Post Consumer Brands are accused in a complaint filed on Tuesday of concealing boxes of Snoop Cereal and falsely declaring it to be out of stock.
Attorney Benjamin Crump described it as a "blatant disregard" for a company owned by Black people. Both businesses mention the product's low sales in their comments. According to Walmart, a variety of factors influence a product's sales and the company has a long history of assisting entrepreneurs.
Snoop Dogg and Master P founded Broadus Foods in 2022, a food firm producing pancake mix, maple syrup, and morning cereals. US media reports that Post attempted to "choke Broadus Foods out of the market" due to their refusal to give the company their business.
However, they did consent to a joint venture in which Post would manufacture and supply the goods to big-box stores. One of the most well-known civil rights attorneys in America, Mr. Crump, stated in a video he uploaded to the internet that the cereal was kept in the back of the storage and would not be placed in the aisles.
According to the lawsuit, Broadus Foods would suffer excessive expenses that would wipe out any profit, or Walmart and Post Consumer Brands would have made sure that Snoop Cereal would not be sold to consumers.
