Australian Department of Defence gives out three contracts

The Department of Defence (Australia) has awarded three contracts to Fujitsu and Kinetic IT. The signing will see the two companies deliver IT services to the defence personnel across Australia.

According to the contracts, Fujitsu and Kinetic IT are to start providing IT services that would include ICT Service Desk Operations, the integration and coordination of multiple suppliers and desk-side support for 100,000 security personnel across the country in 450 different locations.

While the Perth based-Kinetic IT was awarded two three-year contracts with a total worth of $91million, Fujitsu was given a contract worth $99 million. Under the contracts, Kinetic IT is to contribute to the ICT Service Desk operations and Service Integration and Management (SIAM), whereas Fujitsu Australia is to deliver desktop services, warehousing and asset management, VIP support, formal messaging, a/v services and project services for Defence.

Commenting on the contract, Fujitsu Australia’s CEO Mike Foster said: “We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with the Department of Defence, which has been in place for over 20 years. This new contract provides an opportunity to leverage our extensive resources to ensure that Defence personnel have the support they need to carry out essential services Australia-wide and beyond.”
