American software development corporation Bentley Systems has expanded its alliance with the tech giant Microsoft in a new deal. Bentley Systems is a leader in engineering software for professionals. Their software helps design, build, operate, and maintain critical infrastructures such as road and rail networks.
Together, Microsoft and Bentley Systems will explore opportunities in digital twins for urban planning and citizen engagement for cities around the world. This will help in improving decision-making and increasing productivity through Microsoft Teams for infrastructure engineers.
“At Bentley we believe that infrastructure digital twins can empower engineers, constructors and owner-operators to design, build and operate infrastructure assets that are more cost-effective, more resilient and more sustainable,” said Greg Bentley, CEO, Bentley Systems. Having Azure as a foundation for Bentley Systems cloud services will make their offerings broader and allow further integrations of Microsoft technologies.
Microsoft has earlier recognized Bentley Systems as the 2020 MSUS Partner Award winner for the Industry-Automotive category acknowledging the usage of HoloLens 2 with Bentley’s SYNCHRO 4D construction-modeling software at an automotive factory.
Casey McGee, vice president, Global ISV Sales, Microsoft said: “Our expanded strategic alliance with Bentley Systems opens up new opportunities for innovation and will accelerate the benefits of digital twins for infrastructure engineering organizations and, more broadly, society at large.”
