Here’s a new update from Dell for its Precision laptops with a new inclusion of Ubuntu Linux. The new updated operating system comes alongside Windows 10 and will be available from the Dell Precision 3530.
The Precision 3530 model comes with an eighth-generation Coffee Lake Intel Core i5-8400H processor along with powerful Coffee Lake chips options. The laptop is also equipped with a 4 GB RAM, 500 GB internal memory, and 15.6-inch 1,366x768 display. It has a base price of $942.59 and the additional Ubuntu16.04 configuration will push the cost over an extra $100.
More to come
The Precision 3530 is just the beginning according to a senior architect at Dell, Barton George. Three more redesigned Precision workstation lines will be released soon, he said, although the exact release date and updated prices haven’t been disclosed yet.
The other laptops come in 15 inches, 15.6 inches or 17 inches workstation models. Dell is also offering the users a choice of Quadro and AMD Radeon WX graphics cards as well. Reports also suggest that all the new Precision laptops are RHEL 7.5 certified and include the required software and drivers to run the latest version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
