Synamedia, a UK-based company demonstrated an interesting artificial intelligence software at the CES 2019 technology trade fair in Las Vegas. Synamedia is a video software company which offers the world’s most complete, secure, and advanced end-to-end video delivery solution.
In this trade exhibition, Synamedia showed a way how sharing account details for Netflix amongst friends and family members can be discarded, by making a way to all the streaming industry save billions of dollars in the coming years.
Magid, a market research firm revealed that more than a quarter of millennials share casual passwords. Another research firm, Parks Associates anticipates that approximately 9.9 billion (£7.7bn) of pay-TV revenues and $1.2 billion of revenue from subscription-based streaming services will be lost to credential sharing every year.
Synamedia’s machine learning helps in identifying the account activity and tracks the account details that are used in two different locations simultaneously.
Jean Marc Racine, Synamedia's chief product officer said, “Casual credentials sharing is becoming too expensive to ignore. Our new solution gives operators the ability to take action.”
Synamedia has started conducting trials with some pay-TV operators (not revealed). Streaming services and Pay-TV operators will combine the AI software into their existing platforms, aiding them to trace oversized operations of account sharing.
