UNCTAD's ASYCUDA programme launches ASYCUDAWorld 4.4, ushering in a new era of efficiency, security, and data-driven customs operations.
In a bid to bolster trade facilitation and combat fraudulent activities, UN Trade and Development, through its ASYCUDA programme, has rolled out the latest upgrade of ASYCUDAWorld software. Designed to streamline customs processes and enhance risk management, the ASYCUDAWorld 4.4 update promises to revolutionize trade operations for developing countries.
Shamika N. Sirimanne, Director of Technology and Logistics at UN Trade and Development, lauded the advancements brought forth by ASYCUDAWorld 4.4, emphasizing its role in making international trade more reliable and secure. Developed in collaboration with user countries and adhering to international standards, the upgraded software introduces cutting-edge IT capabilities to optimize customs data management.
At the heart of the upgrade lies the "dynamic selectivity" feature, a powerful tool aimed at identifying fraudulent goods during customs clearance. By leveraging insights from the customs declarations database, this innovative feature calculates the risk of fraud, automatically flagging high-risk profiles and associated declarations. This proactive approach facilitates more efficient fraud detection and targeted customs inspections, safeguarding trade integrity.
The software update also enhances the reporting of customs control results, empowering governments with comprehensive customs data to inform policy decisions effectively. Additionally, an updated graphic interface enhances user experience, simplifying data compilation and trade statistics generation for customs officials.
