Vizio is now letting you sign up for SmartCast 3.0 beta

Vizio is now allowing smart TV users to sign up for its eagerly awaited SmartCast 3.0 software update. Vizio is making the beta version of the SmartCast 3.0 available this spring.

The consumer electronics company is bringing the SmartCast 3.0 beta along with Apple Airplay 2 and HomeKit that will support smart TVs and enhance your viewing experience. The update will be made available on a bigger scale during the second quarter of the year.

Once you have SmartCast 3.0 you’ll be able to beam videos, music, and videos from your iPhone, iPad, and Mac to Vizio’s SmartCast TVs. These can include 4K, Dolby Vision HDR movies, and other shows you purchase from iTunes.  Moreover, users will be able to mirror content such as web pages and presentations to their Vizio SmartCast TVs.

In its announcement, Vizio said: “Support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit on VIZIO SmartCast TVs will be available for registered beta members across the U.S. and Canada to experience in Q1 2019.” Vizio will next release the SmartCast 3.0 cloud-based updates for the new and existing SmartCast TVs and displays in Q2 2019.
