NASA's Johnson Space Center will host news briefings and media tours on March 22 and 21 to discuss the Boeing Crew Flight Test mission to the International Space Station.
NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston will host news briefings on Friday, March 22, and media tours on Thursday, March 21, to give an advance look at the agency's Boeing Crew Flight Test (CFT) mission.
On March 22, mission management will talk about the flight plan, timetable, and specifics at 11:30 am EDT, while NASA and Boeing officials will talk about the flight test's readiness, objectives, and priorities. At 2:00 pm, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, two NASA astronauts, will take questions and be available for one-on-one interviews.
On March 21, in the afternoon, the media will have the chance to see the Boeing Starliner mockup, train in the Starliner simulator, and speak with members of the flight control teams that will support the spacecraft's maiden crewed flight, all while learning more about the flight test.
Due to space station scheduling, the flight test will launch in early May. Wilmore and Williams will be transported to the orbiting laboratory for up to two weeks. Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida will be the launch site for a United Launch Alliance rocket and the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
The astronauts will only have one more chance to interact with the media before departing for NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida before launch.
