NASA reveals the existence of a massive hole on Mars near an area which might contain underground caves with possibilities of alien life and potential future space exploration.
NASA announced through photographs the discovery of a 300-foot-wide Mars hole which demonstrates potential functions as an entrance to subterranean areas. NASA released this interesting find through its Astronomy Picture of the Day. The imagery captured in 2017 by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows the hole in a circular shape that increases the mystery element.
Researchers believe that the hole might create large hidden cavities which provide shelter against Mars' severe surface conditions. Scientists believe these subterranean passageways protect alien life from radiation since they are shielded from radiation. According to NASA future spacecraft together with robots and human explorers will specifically examine these locations.
Early research shows that Mars was more similar to Earth during its time of existence allowing living organisms to potentially exist inside subsurface cave formations. NASA has contracted the U.S. Geological Survey to create surveys of the 1,000 possible Mars cave entry points.
Human exploration of Mars will begin by 2028 and SpaceX has set the target of following with an unmanned mission to Mars during 2026. The exploration effort represents a major advance toward future space exploration because it increases the possibilities of finding living organisms beyond our planet.
