NASA announces a number of impending solar and lunar eclipses that will occur throughout the world and provide chances for scientific research, photography, and observation.
Astronomers and fans of lunar eclipses have a lot to look forward to, as NASA has listed a number of upcoming eclipses that will take place in different regions of the world. These astronomical occurrences are expected to provide breathtaking views of solar and lunar eclipses, offering exceptional chances for scientific research, photography, and observation. On October 2, 2024, there will be an annular solar eclipse to kick off the noteworthy celestial events series.
The Moon will partially obscure the Sun's disk during this eclipse, casting a ring of sunlight in the sky as it moves between the Earth and the Sun. Parts of South America will be on the annularity's path, where the ring effect is noticeable. According to the NASA announcement, there will also be a partial eclipse visible in parts of South America, Antarctica, the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and North America.
In 2025, there will be two partial solar eclipses that will provide a gloomy show for a large number of people. The first one will be visible on March 29, 2025, stretching its shadow over the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans and spanning Europe, Asia, Africa, and both North and South America. On September 21, 2025, spectators throughout the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans as well as those in Australia and Antarctica will be treated to a partial eclipse.
