IHCL and Goa government collaborate through a partnership to establish India’s biggest training facility for hospitality which will generate more employment possibilities in the tourism industry.
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Goa's Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to develop the biggest hospitality skilling center in the country. The important step to boost the growing travel and hospitality sector of Goa took place at a ceremony which Shri Pramod Sawant as Goa's Chief Minister attended.
As part of its ESG+ framework IHCL establishes the skilling center to provide focused vocational training which eliminates employment gaps in the youth population of Goa. Since pioneering the hospitality industry in this region IHCL seeks to develop a workforce that fulfills the upcoming requirements of the travel and hospitality sector. The training programs at the center will teach students front office methods along with housekeeping techniques and food production and food and beverage serving procedures while industry-based internships let students experience practical work tasks.
GOA Chief Minister Pramod Sawant endorsed the program as a tool to establish new employment roles for tourism development in a sustainable manner.
This MOU fulfills IHCL’s wider dedication to workforce training through its network of 47 existing centers which empower youths and build strong hospitality professionals. The partnership demonstrates mutual dedication to create a sustainable skilled environment that supports the tourism sector.
