Hanwha Vision's research shows cybersecurity holes in video solutions and recommends adopting best practices and compliance to government regulation to shield against escalating cyber threats.
The increasing capabilities of video surveillance will be creating more possibilities and security problems in ICT systems beyond the escalating threats as standard operational equipment; the very applications will become a target for the enemy in the cyber battlefield as cyber-threats attackers walk on the digital superhighway. The research of Hanwha Vision has pointed out a significant gap in cyber resilience of it; especially in video solutions in various industries, like finance, telecoms, and manufacturing.
Many organizations overestimate their video system security, with 99% confidence in finance but only 47% aware of NIS2 and 23% of CRA. This lack of knowledge contributes to vulnerabilities as firms often ignore basic cybersecurity practices like firmware updates and employee training.
To lessen the concerns from the condition, Hanwha Vision has a team, S-CERT, dedicated to finding solutions that can address such vulnerabilities within the protection and use of the video solution so that organizations stay ahead in what is coming cyber-threat-wise and is equipped in the defensive activities carried against malicious actors.
