Microsoft and Oracle have announced that the two companies are going to interconnect Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud in an effort to help their customers migrate and run mission-critical enterprise workloads across both clouds. By doing so, the companies are enabling its clients to connect Azure services- like Analytics and AI to Oracle Cloud services- like Autonomous Database.
Together the two cloud services will deliver a highly optimized experience. The collaboration will give the customers a “one-stop shop” for all their cloud requirements which they need to run their entire business. Microsoft on its press release wrote: “By enabling customers to run one part of a workload within Azure and another part of the same workload within the Oracle Cloud, the partnership delivers a highly optimized, best-of-both-clouds experience.”
Additionally, the interoperability will enable customers to come up with new scenarios like “running Oracle E-Business Suite or Oracle JD Edwards on Azure against an Oracle Autonomous Database running on Exadata infrastructure in the Oracle Cloud.”
The companies are making the interconnect available starting today in Ashburn (North America) and Azure US East. The companies plan to add additional regions in the future.
