India’s premier institute unveils a BTech in AI and Data Analytics, sparking curiosity among aspiring tech leaders.
In a vibrant leap toward shaping the future, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, based in India, has opened admissions for its groundbreaking BTech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. Now in its second year, this program, offered through the 2025–26 JoSAA counseling for JEE Advanced qualifiers, is designed to mold 50 students into global pioneers. Housed in the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI, it blends rigorous academics with real-world impact, preparing graduates for dynamic careers in tech giants, healthcare, and manufacturing.
The curriculum, a tapestry of math, machine learning, and ethical AI, encourages students to explore fields like computer vision and speech technology while personalizing their journey through diverse electives. Professor V. Kamakoti, IIT Madras Director, emphasized the program’s alignment with industry and research needs, promising students a prosperous future tackling AI’s grand challenges. Meanwhile, Professor B. Ravindran, head of the Wadhwani School, highlighted AI’s transformative power, noting the program equips students with deep fundamentals for innovative careers.
With a focus on fair and responsible AI, the course fosters solutions that are ethical and impactful. From linear algebra to generative AI, students gain tools to navigate complex problems, ensuring they lead with integrity. This initiative not only elevates IIT Madras as a global AI hub but also inspires a generation to redefine technology’s future.
