Nuburu seeks to advance defense by combining blue laser technologies with what Tekne is developing in electronic warfare and cybersecurity.

Nuburu, Inc., intends to link its cutting-edge blue laser technology with Tekne S.p.A.’s advanced defense solutions for the $500 billion international defense sector. The company’s goal is to make advanced products by teaming up blue laser technology with Tekne’s knowledge of electronic warfare and cyber-protection for military vehicles.

Completion of the acquisition is contingent on regulatory and shareholder sign-off, at which time Nuburu will manage the $309 million in pending orders held by Tekne. Nuburu expects this access to foster growth in defense technology.

Nuburu is focused on producing advanced industrial blue laser systems that are used across industrial welding, 3D printing and cutting and shaping. The company’s technology already plays a role in several industries, including aerospace and defense which made this move a logical next step for its business.

Tekne is famous for providing advanced EW and cybersecurity solutions for armored vehicles. Combining Nuburu’s blue laser with Tekne’s defense technology is expected to upgrade products and address the latest needs of defense systems.
